Our Values:
A. Human Life
1. We value human life and dignity above all else. We will treat all
people, regardless of race, religion,
color, national origin, sex, age, disability, attitude or demeanor with the
courtesy and respect what we would
expect if placed in a similar situation.
2. We will use force only when necessary and then utilize only force that
is reasonable.
B. Integrity
1. We believe the public must have confidence, trust and faith in each
one of us. We believe that integrity
is the basis for personal and public trust. We are honest and truthful and hold
ourselves to high standards or
moral and ethical conduct.
C. United States Constitution
1. We believe in the principles of the Constitution. We respect and
protect the rights of all citizens. We
treat all persons fairly and without favoritism. We are responsible to remain
knowledgeable of, enforce and
obey the law.
D. Accountability
1. We are accountable to each other and the citizens we serve. We
manage our resources effectively and thoroughly and investigate all complaints
against our employees.
E. Teamwork
1. We recognize the importance of each employee as an individual and
team member. We believe that cooperation among ourselves will enable us to
combine our diverse
backgrounds, skills and styles to achieve common goals. We believe that
employee input and open
communication are to be the norm: but once decisions are made, it is critical
that everyone work together
toward achieving established goals.
F. Policy and procedures as Guides
1. We believe that written policy and procedure are necessary to guide
individuals in the performance of their duties. However, rules cannot be
written to cover all contingencies. Our
actions must be legal, professional and consistent with the spirit and intent of
these values and the law.
