LIBRARIAN

The Librarian is appointed by and reports directly to the City Manager.  The Library provides free and equal access for informational, educational, and recreational needs of the citizens of Chickasha, Oklahoma.  The Librarian acquires, catalogs, preserves, and circulates the materials that fulfill these needs.  Materials include books, periodicals, audio books, music cassettes, and videos.  services provided are material check out, interlibrary loan, telephone inquires, Internet access, story time and summer reading program, paperback exchange, genealogy sources, and CD-ROM database.  The Library also provides its patrons with the following services: fax, photocopier, microfilm and microfiche readers, typewriters, computers for word processing, and meeting rooms.

THE LIBRARY

The Library is located in its own facility at 527 Iowa Avenue.  Library hours are Monday and Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  The main goal of the Librarian and the Library staff is to serve the informational needs of the citizens of Chickasha.  The staff is always available to meet these needs.
