2018 Employee of the Month
The City of Chickasha's Employee of the Month program was created to recognize employees for their outstanding work and achievements as a City employee. In 2018, the City of Chickasha honored the following employees as Employee of the Month:
Darren Martin, Community Development
Darren has worked for the City of Chickasha for a combined 30 years; 27 years with the Chickasha Fire Department and three years with Community Development. Darren embodies what it means to be a leader, a team player and a role model of the City of Chickasha’s values. One thing that makes Darren such a great leader is the constant mindset that citizens come first. Darren continuously exceeds the expectations of his job. He is kind and courteous to his coworkers and lends a hand without expecting anything in return. Darren is deserving of this recognition for his outstanding effort and commitment to excellence in his position.
Layce Graham, Animal Control
Layce has worked as an Animal Control Officer for the City of Chickasha for nearly four years. Layce is upbeat and positive and always has a smile on her face. She has repeatedly demonstrated that she is the right person for this job. In many ways she goes above and beyond what is expected of her to assist other members of the department in their responsibilities. Layce is professional and respectful to her coworkers and the public. Layce’s position takes a special person with unique skills and a willingness to work under extreme conditions. Layce gives kind care regardless of the circumstances. Layce is a positive contribution the City and she deserves recognition for her efforts and positive attitude.
Reshelle Pettit, Human Resources
Reshelle has been with the City of Chickasha for nearly 4 years. There are many, many reasons that Reshelle was nominated but chief among them is her willingness to do whatever is asked of her. She has been the glue that held all of the activities of the HR department together. She enthusiastically takes over additional responsibilities as they become available and handles each new role with professionalism. She does all of this with a smile and positive attitude.
Brooke Morales-Nazario, Communications Specialist Supervisor
Brooke has been with the City of Chickasha for a combined 9.5 years in the Communications Department. As the Communications Specialist Supervisor, Brooke was nominated for employee of the month by her co-workers at the City. Brooke does so much under the radar, others are unaware of her contribution to our City. No matter how overwhelmed she may be, she takes care of everything in a faster than expected time frame and does it with calmness and a great attitude. She cares about her subordinates, her coworkers, and the Citizens of Chickasha – and it shows, she is there for people in time of need and goes the distance to assist others. Brooke brings incredible skills, leadership, and dedication to her position and is deserving of this award.
Beth Cranton, Library Department
Beth has been with the City of Chickasha for 8 years in the Library Department. As the Administrative Assistant, Beth was nominated for employee of the month by her co-workers at the City. Beth always has a smile on her face and is always willing to help where she can be of assistance. She cares about her co-workers and the Citizens of Chickasha.
Daniel Ward, Public Works
Daniel has been with the City of Chickasha for 10 years in the Public Works Department. As the Sanitation Driver, Daniel was nominated for employee of the month by his co-workers at the City. Over the 10 years of employment he has become very knowledgeable. He takes pride in his work and is willing to step in and help his fellow co-workers.
Robert Jackson, Parks Department
Robert has been with the City of Chickasha for nearly 15 years in the Parks Department. Robert was nominated for employee of the month by his fellow co-workers at the City. Robert goes above and beyond to get the job done. His commitment in being a team player is greatly appreciated.
Brande Bradford, Library Department
Brande has been with the City of Chickasha for 4 years in the Library Department as a Library Assistant, Brande was nominated for employee of the month by her co-workers at the City. Brande has always maintained an exceptional level of performance. She cares about her co-workers and the Citizens of Chickasha. She willingly goes above and beyond to help customers. She actively promotes many of the programs at the Library.
Field Training Officer Derek Hunt, Police Department
FTO Hunt has been with the City of Chickasha for 6 years in the Police Department as a Police Officer and later becoming a Field Training Officer in 2015, FTO Hunt was nominated for employee of the month by his co-workers at the City. FTO Hunt has always taken the honor and authority of his position seriously. He cares about his fellow co-workers and the Citizens of Chickasha. He willingly goes above and beyond to help citizens in the community.
Kay Perry, Community Development
After review of the nominations for Employee of the Month, the Selection Committee chose Kay Perry as the October winner for her dedicated service to the City, professional and positive attitude and her ability to calmly handle all the various situations she is faced with on a daily basis. Kay eagerly responds to all requests from residents and co-workers. No job is too small or too big to tackle. Kay has been with the City for over 4 years as the Administrative Assistant for the Community Development Department.
Courtney Mayall, Library Department
Courtney is the Children's Librarian, and began her employment with the City of Chickasha in 2015. Mayall was instrumental in developing and improving the Summer Reading Program for children. She worked diligently planning, decorating, managing volunteers, time and money. The children were very happy and enthusiastic about the 2-month program. Courtney is cheerful and helpful even under pressure. She has the ability to make everyone’s job easier.
Kourtney Smith, Police Department
Kourtney is the Administrative Assistant to the Police Chief and has been with the City for nearly 2 years. Not only does Kourtney exude a positive service attitude toward coworkers and customers, she does so with professionalism and competence. She was instrumental in organizing an appreciation banquet this year for the agencies that assisted CPD. She continues to improve efficiencies at the Police Department and is deserving of this formal recognition. Congratulations to Kourtney and Thank you for your service to the City of Chickasha.
